Reflexology

Reflexology is an age old therapy based on ancient forms of foot and hand massage that have been referenced as far back as 2330 BC in China and Egypt.
More modern forms of the therapy have been developed through 'zone therapy' and foot mapping to bring us to where we are today, working reflexes on the foot to stimulate corresponding parts of the body to balance themselves.

The History of Reflexology
What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a wonderful complementary and holistic therapy in that it aims to work with the mind, body and spirit at once to bring about balance.
Reflexologists work with "reflexes" on the feet (hands and face) to correspond with parts of the body and during a treatment can target areas of imbalance with a view to clearing blockages, activating the nervous system and encouraging the body to restore homeostasis.
A treatment can stimulate the body and mind to connect, reduce stress and the consequences of stress and encourage deep relaxation, it can help with sleep as well as providing relief for you and your mind and body and what ails it.

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD)
RLD is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body. It is a unique sequence that has been researched and developed by Sally Kay, whilst working in Cancer Care. The results appear to support the theory of reflexology.

About me
Hello! First and foremost, thank you for visiting Salvere Wellbeing's website. Salvere Wellbeing is a complementary therapy business here in the heart of Northampton, passionate about and created to bring a focus to your wellbeing.
Salvere Wellbeing was born out of the realisation that many of us work hard and struggle to find balance between the mounting stresses of our everyday commitments and our own health and wellbeing. Reflexology is a wonderful therapy aimed at helping to achieve this balance.
At the end of 2019, I was drawn to Reflexology. I had tried it before and loved it but all of a sudden, I felt a real pull to learn more & here I sit today after just over a year of studying and preparation, a qualified Reflexologist, talking to you!
I earned my Level 3 Diploma from Temple Academy of Reflexology, a highly regarded school of Reflexology that is itself regulated and affiliated/assessed by the Association of Reflexologists in the UK. I am full member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) and am fully insured to practice in Salvere's purpose-built cabin in our garden.
As part of my training I was required to complete one hundred treatments alongside a ten month course covering all aspects of Reflexology from anatomy, physiology and pathology, principles and practices, anatomy of the feet, sequences and location of reflexes as well as passing several practical and theoretical assessments.
If you have any questions about Reflexology or the treatments and their benefits, please get in touch for a chat.
I really do look forward to speaking with you and hope to welcome you to a calm, restorative space created to bring you some of that much deserved peace and wellbeing.
